Allshouse Award

The Lloyd M. Allshouse Scholar-Athlete Award is given to one 8th grade girl and boy who have at least a 93% overall grade point average; they must have also lettered in one sport and participated in another at Harrold Middle School or Hempfield Area.  In addition, the candidate must have satisfactory citizenship to complete the qualifications.  Mr. Allshouse was the principal at Harrold from 1960 to 1974. His total involvement in the student-athlete was a priority to him.  He made sure that the student-athletes of Harrold knew how important it was to be an honor student academically combined with the ability to be a top performer in athletics.  Because of Mr. Allshouse's dedication to education and athletics, this memorial award was created to always remember the many contributions he made to the students of Harrold. 

 

This year's recipients are Ella Beeman (lettering in Field Hockey & Volleyball; 99.63%) and Colin Polechko (lettering in Cross Country & participating in Baseball; 98.5%).
